completing the music video for the latest Moodorgan track
the ad hoc render farm
May 12 was the deadline for completing the edit for Moodorgan's track Remember the Truth [prv2 (9.9.9) mix]. The concept for the video involved a number of "videos-within-a-video" integrated into a futuristic urban environment; with a lot of architecture to render, we had to put a few additional render machines on line.
It was also necessary to integrate a bunch of greenscreen footage shot at our warehouse space downtown.
Most of the editing was executed in Final Cut Pro; Lightwave for the 3D elements, and most of the compositing in After Effects.
The final edit can be viewed here.

In 2005 I assembled a group of artists and musicians to create a performance group that creates images and sounds in a live performance environment. Combining original photography, animation, and sound design with VJ mix dynamics, the group developed realtime compositing tools and techniques to generate pictures and soundtracks that may range from abstract to narrative. A primary goal of this project was to use "cinematic" visual techniques and narrative elements, while assembling the "final cut" live in real-time.
special-ops interactive presentation
As a developer with Inhance Digital, I was involved in the new development for a multi-screen presentation systems for major corporate clients. These systems combined five or more independent computers on a network running synchronized displays on large-format plasma, LCD, or projection screens. Multiple sync'ed displays are run in parallel to create a high-resolution, widescreen image, and independent presenter stations allow interactive control over the content displayed.

eBooklets
In 2004-5, as a Senior Designer (freelance) with the Digitas Boston team, I worked with the in-house Creative Directors, Art Directors, Copywriters, and designers to create a series of "eBooklets" - multiplatform CD-ROMs that used the conceptual model of a book with front and back covers and 3D animated "page turn" linear navigation.
interactive "holographic" presentation systems
While technically not holography, "holographic" panels such as the one shown here create a compelling, three-dimensional experience by combining rear-screen projection on a transparent surface with embedded touchscreen technology.
