Software engineering projects
In addition to working in the interactive media and production environments, I've also worked on a number of projects in the traditional software engineering world. These projects were generally in C/C++ with standard source control and other tools.
As a software engineer for Avid Technology, Inc., I was involved in the development and maintenance of versions 5.12 through 6.5 of the Avid Media Composer/Film Composer product.
I wrote the redirector for the Hewlett-Packard 100LX palmtop PC. Coded entirely in 8086 assembler, it allowed the mapping of a "drive" on the palmtop to a drive on another PC, via the serial port.
The MESA Group was a consulting company involved with product development for several major software companies, including Microsoft and Lotus.
I was a member of the development team responsible for the first version of Intellution's Windows-based process monitoring and control package
