Over the last few weeks I've been prototyping the sensor rig for the upcoming gesture-driven performance system.
Rotation at each major arm and leg joint is tracked by simple 50k potentiometers. Dual-axis accelerometers are mounted on each hand.

Right now we're working on getting the rig sized properly for the dancer's body.
Next steps are the gyroscope (for tracking rotation of the body/head) and the rest of the joints, followed by a lot of code to translate signals from the (wireless) analog-to-digital converter channels to visual (video projection) and musical cues. This will be a combination of MaxMSP+Jitter, Actionscript (Flash) and Javascript (Director).
